The Science Behind Love

By Victor M Fontane

Studying and researching ancient teachings, discoveries and modern science I found a common denominator in our societies, human behavior and also intellectual and spiritual growth. When we study human and even animal emotions we see love manifested in many ways, between partners, family, friends, concepts, arts, etc. and is the glue that keeps together societies. It's an energy that appeared from the very beginning of the creation or manifestation of the Universe and our planet as well. However, from the early humans recorded, we learned to divide ourselves into tribes segregating from each other and creating the concept of dualism, me and the others, subject and object of all experiences. Then we created nationalities, races, different languages, financial and social differences, etc. and the historical consequences have been devastating for our human and spiritual growth and evolution. What happened then with that love? First we kept that energy just for our closest ones and created the antithesis or opposite as hate and manage our daily life between love and hate, likes and dislikes. When will the time come to recognize and acknowledge the energy of love as the only path to achieve the highest human potential and create a new era of spiritual evolution, peace and harmony.

In her book The Story of GAIA, chapter 15, Dr. Jude Currivan explains:

In February 2010, I journeyed to Ethiopia. A few months before, archeologists there announced the earliest yet discovery of a female hominin able to walk upright. Named Ardipithecus radius, or Ardi for short, she lived around 4.4 Ma in a forest environment in what is now the desolate Afar region of the country. Discoveries of other related fossils have revealed, from their sane sized teeth and similar sized bodies, that Ardi males and females likely formed pair-bonds and with grater investment in parental care than other primates. In Ardi, one of our first hominin relatives, we may be seeing a cognitive leap to a deeper level of emotional relationship and cooperative involvement, which is innate to our origins as humans. We seem to have been built for love.
