Rabbinic Judaism considers seven names of God so holy that, once written, they should not be erased. The documentary hypothesis proposes that the Torah was compiled from various original sources, two of which (the Jahwist and the Elohist) are named for their usual names for God (Yahweh and Elohim). So, the seven sacred names of God are:
YHWH
El
Elon a
Elohim
Elohai
El Shaddai
Tzevaot
Jah
Other names and titles:
1. Adonai
2. Adoshem
3. Baal
4. Ehyeh Asher ehyeh
5. Elah
6. El Roi
7. Elyon
8. Eternal One
9. Hashem
10. Shalom
11. Shekhinah
