The Gayatri Mantram is the most powerful sound to lift humanity to a New and better Dawn as the manifestation of the morning Sun is chanted to Savitaa.
This mantram was given to humanity by Vishvamitra Rishis (Hindu sage or saint) but the one that is usually chanted is not the true one since it is reserved for the Rishis.
The recitation of the true Gayatri, being a solar mantram, causes the personality to burn out and disappear, thus dissolving the practitioner in the Ultimate Reality.
It is like the example that Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa gives of the salt doll that was thrown into the sea to measure its depth and in the process dissolved.
The path of the Sun is the path of the Jnani or one who has escaped the illusion of duality. The path of the Moon is the path of Bhakta or that of devotion.
Even with the above, chanting the Gayatri mantram to which we have access allows us to open our eyes to a new reality and for humanity as a whole to wake up from its dream.
The Gayatri mantram is slowly transforming the chemistry of the brain and increasing our intellectual capacities.

Gayatri Mantra - A Universal Prayer
Om Bhur Bhuvaḥ Swaḥ
Tat-savitur Vareñyaṃ
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo Yonaḥ Prachodayāt
General meaning: We meditate on that most adored Supreme Lord, the creator, whose effulgence (divine light) illumines all realms (physical, mental and spiritual). May this divine light illumine our intellect.
Word meaning: Om: The primeval sound; Bhur: the physical body/physical realm; Bhuvah: the life force/the mental realm Suvah: the soul/spiritual realm; Tat: That (God); Savitur: the Sun, Creator (source of all life); Vareñyam: adore; Bhargo: effulgence (divine light); Devasya: supreme Lord; Dhīmahi: meditate; Dhiyo: the intellect; Yo: May this light; Nah: our; Prachodayāt: illumine/inspire.
