Our Meaning

Writer: --

Biologist Jeremy Griffith often cites great thinkers throughout his writings, which are all absolutely invaluable in evidencing his insights. So here’s just one from the inimitable author and philosopher Antoine de Saint-Exupéry who wrote that “We are living through deeply anxious days, and if we are to relieve our anxiety we must diagnose its cause…What is the meaning of man? To this question no answer is being offered, and I have the feeling that we are moving toward the darkest era our world has ever known”. When Antoine de Saint-Exupéry wrote these words, Jeremy explains that de Saint-Exupéry was in fact recognising that being able to know the purpose or the ‘the meaning’ of human suffering, to be able to explain our corrupted or ‘fallen’ human condition, was what has been needed to end human suffering. And at the absolute 11th hour for our species, that’s now possible with Jeremy's ‘instinct vs intellect’ explanation of our psychologically troubled human condition! How amazed would de Saint-Exupéry be by the fruition of a solution to his great fear of the world having no answer to “the darkest era our world”!! — de Saint-Exupéry's quote appears on the back cover of Jeremy's extraordinary book 'Our Meaning', which you can access here: https://www.humancondition.com/our-meaning
