Astral realm is where humans move after dying for a period time as a lower mind or consciousness before moving to the next one.

So, non-physical entities or beings can have impact and interactions with humans mind in the physical realm in a positive and negative way as well. Entities in the astral realm has no limitations except occupying a physical body but are fed specially by emotions, specially negative emotions that arose when we are exposed to them through negative experiences, violence on tv shows, misleading news, etc.

Thus, the more violence or negative experiences and behavior we have the more negative energies are fed on the entities of the astral realm which in turn can negatively affect the physical plane, leading to wars, crime and conflicts creating more karma.

Causal realm is where we move from the astral realm for another period of time to pick those karmic seed related to our new incarnation and the experiences that we will face.

So, as human species, to jump to our next step of evolution rather than seeking connections outside with entities in other realms that by any means we are not prepared to confront, we need to look within to purify our mind and consciousness, finding our Real Self and achieving our highest human potential.
