"THEY PLACED IN THE CENTER, A RAY OF GREAT POWER GIVER OF LIFE, GIVER OF LIGHT, FILLING WITH HIS POWER ALL THOSE WHO ARE APPROACHING. THEY PLACED THRONES AROUND THE RAY AND HAS THIRTY TWO PLACES, ONE FOR EACH CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT, PLACED IN SUCH A WAY, WHICH CONSTANTLY GIVES RADIATION, FULL OF THE LIFE OF THE ETERNAL LIGHT. "

In the framework of the old Buddhist traditions, Chintamani is a mythical stone with the capacity to grant wishes to those who carry it. It is known as the "Stone of Hope" or "Jewel of Thought", according to the Sanskrit language (chintá: "thought", mani: "precious stone"). In Buddhism, the stone is carried by Avalokitésuara, one of the bodhisattvas or representations of the Buddha. It has also been seen carried on the back of Lung Ta, the horse of the wind. The Buddhist tradition holds that if the Dharani of Chintamani is recited, one obtains Buddha's wisdom, attains the ability to understand the truth about the Buddha, and converts the afflictions into bodhi (intelligence).
