Arcanes of Theosophy?

By Victor M Fontane

Archontes-The archangels after becoming Ferouers or their own shadows, having a mission on earth; a mystical ubiquity; which implies a double life; a kind of hypostatic action, the one of purity in a higher region, the other of terrestrial activity exerted on our plane. The word Ferouer means the reverse or opposite side of some attribute or quality. Thus, the Ferouer (called Fravarshi in the Vendidad) is the spiritual counterpart of the gods, angels, men, animals, plants, stars even of the elements (water, fire, etc.), that is, the refined and purest part of gross creation, the soul of the body; it is the immortal part of the creature of which it is the type and which survives it (Id., III, 79). Ahura Mazda (also spelled Ormizd or Ormazd, supreme god in ancient Iranian religion, especially Zoroastrianism, the religious system of the Iranian prophet Zarathustra (c. 6th century bce; Greek name Zoroaster). Ahura Mazdā was worshipped by the Persian king Darius I (reigned 522–486 bce) and his successors as the greatest of all gods and protector of the just king) himself also has his Ferouer; thus he recommends to Zarathustra not to invoke him himself, but “his Fravarshi (or Ferouer), the impersonal and true essence of the Godhead, and not the false personal aspect of him. Applied to man, the Ferouer is the immortal part of an individual, that which survives the physical man; the purest and most divine part of the human Ego or spiritual principle, the higher Ego or divine Double of the occultists.
