About Pi, 3.141592…

By Victor M Fontane

The number π (/ paɪ /; written as "pi") is a mathematical constant, approximately equal to 3.14159. It is defined in Euclidean geometry as the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, and it also has several equivalent definitions. The number appears in many formulas in all areas of mathematics and physics. The first known use of the Greek letter π to represent the relationship between the circumference of a circle and its diameter was made by the Welsh mathematician William Jones in 1706. It is also known as Archimedean constant.

But, until our time, it has no end and some scholars believe that the first million digits represents the history of mankind and is a sacred number in the creation of Universes.
