About Change

By Victor M Fontane

There are as many books about self-help, concentration, prosperity, forgiveness, goal achievement, how to impress people, have a great personality, loose weight, meditate better, etc. as psychologist, life coaches, priests, ministers, mega churches, etc. and because people don’t really significantly change and stays the same person after all reading, seminar or service attending, etc. they become the dope of the masses and a multimillionaire business. Some of them are good but don’t create the changes expected. But why this happen? And is because none of them talk about the real nature and structure of the mind, don’t address the question, why is so difficult to change?

“The mind is very restless, turbulent, strong and obstinate, Oh Krishna. It appears to me that it is more difficult to control that the wind”. - Bhagavad Gita (6:34)

“Lord Krishna said” Oh mighty-armed son of Kunti, what you say is correct; the mind is indeed very difficult to restrain. But by practice and detachment, it can be controlled” - Bhagavad Gita (6:35)
